Hendriks plays a game with the nature of observation, touching upon the essence of painting and the value attached to it. The painted subjects evoke a field of tension with the historical idea of painting and balance between temporality and eternity, between presence and absence, between truth and deceit.

The design of the publication clearly recognizes the tricks of the eye and the (aerial) reflections that are the subject of Hendriks' paintings. For example, we used a mirrored paper for the cover that creates an effect that is similar to the manipulation that is present in Hendrik’s paintings.
